Is it a sunset or a sunrise?

Who can tell

one from the other

when you see the sky

in all its glory and color

with the sun

playing peek-a-boo

bringing in the light

or taking it all away?

What makes

the dark night shine?

Is it the stars,

the full moon,

the headlights

of a passing car

reflecting

in the waters

and the windows

of our homes?

Is it the eyes

of the people

you love,

the words being said,

the music of being,

the food we eat,

the wine we drink,

the fire within?

Where there is light

there is color

.

So who’s to say

when we pack up

after a hard day’s work

and take the bus home

the day has ended?
